500/5000

books donated

We hope to have libraries at all of our schools, but will be rolling this project out slowly over the next few years. We will be collecting book donations until April 10, 2018 for the libraries that will be installed in 2018. The schools where we will install libraries are:

  1. Wurudu Wurudu Primary and Junior High School - Matched
  2. Fatwa Kosie Primary and Junior High School - Matched
  3. Bahankra Primary and Junior High School- Matched
  4. Dagomba Primary and Junior High School
  5. Community School 3 Primary School- Matched

Our schools will not be up on the African Library Project website until October, so if you wish to do a complete book-drive start collecting your books now and we will notify you when you can sign up through them. Contact us at crys@empowerplaygrounds.org for more questions.

We currently have 4000 books being shipped to Ghana for our schools, Obane, Pediatorkope, Attabui, and Mpaem and will be installed in October of 2017!

How can you get involved?!

Volunteer to head a book drive:

Send us an e-mail at crys@empowerplaygrounds.org to be matched to one of the schools (listed above). We will give you a link to sign-up through the African Library Project once they have the schools on their website. We will provide you with some great pictures of your school and some of the children there. Get your school or club or family together to collect 1000 books and raise $500 to help with shipping costs! The African Library Project has extremely helpful information on how to get started and make a successful book drive. Click on the list below to be redirected to the ALP resources:
